Today is a big day for crafters and manufacturers big and small! Today’s CPSIA rally in DC is under way and will be a turning point in the fight to amend the law. Thank you to those who have labored many hours to put all of this together. I can’t possibly imagine everything that went into organizing the event physically in DC and online.

I can honestly say that 2009 has been the hardest year I’ve encountered. My son was diagnosed with autism in January right when the CPSIA fight got hot and heavy for me. The diagnosis itself was a big blow, but I tried to continue to live life as normal. Right after the CPSIA press conference on National Bankruptcy Day, my pom poms got really heavy and I realized that my day to day life was far beyond normal. Things got extremely hard and I couldn’t fight CPSIA and for my family at the same time. The toils of “life” then became too much for my 9-year marriage to bare.
So here I am now, broken but still alive. I’m picking up the pieces and I’m definitely stronger because of it all.
Looking back to the beginning of the year, many of us didn’t know how we were going to make it. I’m not sure any of us could fast forward to the first day of April and know that as a whole, we would be stronger than ever before. Our collective voice is louder and even wider reaching. You and I are witnesses that what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger. Thank you again to everyone who didn’t give up!
Today, I am picking back up my megaphone and cheering at the CPSIA rally (from Colorado)! Will you shout with me? Go, fight, win!

This was a great Rally!!! I was with them there in heart…….
Best wishes to you and your family. Fight the fight whenever and however you can.
Olivia…
My heart goes out to you. It’s not easy when all things hit you at once.
Thank you for all you do to keep the CPSIA issue out there.
With friendship,
Lisa
